Psychological Wellbeing & Performance

This page will signpost you to various mental health or psychology-related professionals. At theathleteplace, we are not a mental health service, therefore, ensuring you are aware and can access those who are is very important to us.

Remember, a happy athlete is a successful athlete.

Matt Roberts

Matt is a former international high jumper with years of experience in athletics – he knows what it’s like to be in your shoes. In our opinion, being able to relate to someone and share how you feel with someone who really ‘gets it’ is massive.

By taking an alternative approach to sports psychology, Matt coaches through having ‘conversations that transform’. We caught up with him and he explained how “athletes already have the skills they need to be successful, they just need to unlock them” – really powerful stuff.

If you’re looking to unlock that next level of performance, in life or in sport, then Matt is your man.
